Once upon a time…

20 Sep

… the grass was green everywhere, there was no sides. Burn the houses to the ground and take me back. I will dance for the sun, and wear it’s light sheet as if it was the most beautiful dress, a dress of a sheer and flesh-colored marquisette fabric, with 2,500 shimmering rhinestones sewn into it.

Ode to Newton

1 Aug

He is one of my long time favorite artist, but honestly what can i say about Helmut Newton that hasn’t already been said! And any way in my opinion his work talks for the both of us… The erotism, the composition, the subjects, the womens….

He is a part of the list of passed away artist i would have been honored to meet; along with Keith Harring, Salvador Dali, Man Ray and more…

You can also find many great photography of New York (and more) in the LIFE Archives

This post was suppose to be an introduction to Jacob Riis‘s photography work from the 19th century using as subjects the deploring sanitary and health conditions in the New York tenement… I discovered his work trough a great book called ”How the other half lives” i happened to posses an old edition of the book with very fine printings! But… I change my mind and decided to show an other face of the city, more underground; at the time were graffiti and vandalism were at their apogee. (Some photos are dated from the 20’s but what did you expect i’m a vintage lover ; ) )

Enjoy dear Followers

Enjoy
