I am enjoying every moment of my 11 days left in New York. Every step is suppose to bring me a step closer from home, but I know since long time my home is right were I’m at. New York your full of magic, art, love, skyscraper, garbedge, people, memories, parks, shops, rats, restaurants, friends, taxis, bikes, delies, room with a view, room with no view, avenues, and so much more.

If Spike Lee what the director of the movie of my life, he would have to me to say “Fuck you” * but here I’m the director so fuck Spike Lee. New York I love you.

* a reference to the “Fuck you” scene of the 25th hour Spike Lee movie, one of my all time favorite.

You know your in NYC when you see a man beein handcuffed in the subway station, when the police abuse of there power to make you  delete the shots, when you see a hot dog truck moving so much that look like someone was fuckig in it cause the guy is runing so fast making food for 10 workers at a time, when you see a taxi being toed away it’s like a symbol that is broke forever, reprenseting in it’s own way the fall of the american dream. When walking under the rain actually  feels cool, when you see a black dude in baggy jeans tutching his balls to look more viril, when the cashier that you never meet in you life calls you honney, when building  are so tall they reflec sun light making you doubt were is the real one. When you see a rabbin whit his hat in plastic wrap to avoid rain, when you  see the green signs with only written “14th E” and you know exactly  where you are,  when your favorite place is a 24h/7days a week gay own super kitch restaurant. When
In every street lies a opportunity of a life time, you just need to grab it. This, my friends is NYC.

When we left for the USA three years ago, I would never have thought the Chaøs Chrønicles would have brought us were we are now… I don’t want to spoil the surprises, so for now all I can share with you is a little road trip though  my mind.

Can’t find much more to say.. Images speaks for themselves and to me they are worth every minutes of silence. Enjoy

You can also find many great photography of New York (and more) in the LIFE Archives

This post was suppose to be an introduction to Jacob Riis‘s photography work from the 19th century using as subjects the deploring sanitary and health conditions in the New York tenement… I discovered his work trough a great book called ”How the other half lives” i happened to posses an old edition of the book with very fine printings! But… I change my mind and decided to show an other face of the city, more underground; at the time were graffiti and vandalism were at their apogee. (Some photos are dated from the 20’s but what did you expect i’m a vintage lover ; ) )

Enjoy dear Followers

Enjoy
